Why we're making Scrappd

Scrapbooks are made by hand and kept with love. Yet they usually sit in a cupboard, where nobody sees them. It doesn't have to be that way.

Somewhere in your home there's probably a pile of books full of tape, tickets and photos. A travel journal from that one summer, the baby book your gran made, your first junk journal. They were made by hand and kept with love. But hardly anyone gets to see them, and if something goes wrong, during a move or a leak, they're gone.

A place that didn't exist yet

If you scrapbook, you probably share your work in bits and pieces across Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest and Facebook groups. That's fine for finding inspiration, but it's no place for your books. Your pages disappear into a timeline, between adverts and counters, and finding what you made three years ago is almost impossible.

A place made especially for scrapbooks didn't exist yet. That's why we're making Scrappd.

A bookshelf, not a timeline

Scrappd is all about your own books. You scan them page by page with your phone and they go on your shelf, which is just yours by default. Want to show a book? Then you choose, book by book, who can leaf through it.

Leafing through other people's books feels like it used to at the kitchen table. If you like a page, you stick a little flower on it or write something in the guestbook. No likes, no follower counts, no algorithm deciding what you see.

What we promise

  • Your books are private by default.
  • Your photos are stored on servers in the European Union.
  • No adverts, and we don't sell anything on.
  • We don't train AI on your pages.

Want to be there when it starts? Then join the waiting list. And if you've been scrapbooking for years, or you've only just started, and you'd like to help shape Scrappd, feel free to email us.
